Ethical Statement

All the skins used for making my sporrans are ethically sourced, and are either left over from the game and farming industries, road kill, or have died a natural death or are reused materials from old stoles and bags.

Any protected species will have the required licenses. If I did not make use of these skins they would otherwise be discarded, and their natural beauty wasted.

If anyone finds a dead animal and is unsure if it requires a licence to handle it or not, here is the department to check with:

Customs Requirements for the USA. and Worldwide.
These sporrans have been made from tanned skins, using a registered chrome based tanning system. They have been tanned according to the manufacturers instructions, as has all the leather used. All animals used have the required licences, according to DEFRA instructions, and all EU rules and regulations.
